Black Garlic Bread

This Black Garlic Bread is a simple classic, elevated with rich, sweet, caramelised Noosa Black Garlic Butter.

Golden and crisp on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside - with that deep, savoury flavour that keeps you going back for “just one more piece”.

Add cheese if you like… or keep it pure and let the black garlic shine.

Ingredients

  • 1 large baguette or sourdough loaf
  • 100 g butter, softened
  • 2–3 Noosa Black Garlic Cloves, mashed (or 1–2 tsp Caramelized Black Garlic Paste)
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped (personally I detest parsley - so I would use some chopped chives or basil here!)
  • Pinch sea salt

Optional

  • ½–1 cup mozzarella, grated
  • ¼ cup parmesan, finely grated

Method

1. Make the black garlic butter

In a bowl, combine:

  • softened butter
  • mashed Noosa Black Garlic Cloves (or paste)
  • parsley
  • sea salt

Mix until smooth and evenly combined.


2. Prepare the bread

Slice the baguette in half lengthways (or into thick slices).

Spread generously with the black garlic butter, making sure to get right to the edges.


3. Add cheese (optional)

If using, sprinkle over:

  • mozzarella for melt
  • parmesan for a salty, golden finish

4. Bake

Preheat oven to 180°C.

Place bread on a tray and bake for 10–15 minutes, until:

  • edges are golden and crisp
  • butter is bubbling
  • cheese (if using) is melted and lightly golden

5. Finish

Slice and serve immediately while warm.


Serve

Perfect as:

  • a side to pasta or soup
  • part of a grazing board
  • or as a snack straight from the oven
